Our Founding Story

"This foundation was not created from abundance, it was born from hardship".

Mr. Baguma Gerald - Founder Willora Foundation

I grew up knowing what it meant to struggle and to be judged. There were moments when life felt unfair, when opportunities seemed out of reach, and when hope was fragile. As a child, I learned early that struggling is not a lack of ability or dreams, but a lack of opportunity and support. What stayed with me most was not the hardship itself, but the feeling of being unseen, unheard and being judged.

As I grew older and life began to change for me, i came to learn that the hardships we survive should never harden us, they should inspire us to fight for those still trapped in the same struggle.

In 2017, Willows foundation was started to stand beside the underprivileged children in our community and say, you matter. We exist to support those who have been overlooked, to uplift families facing hardship, and to give children and young people the chance to dream beyond their circumstances. Whether through education, basic needs, or emotional support, our work is rooted in dignity, compassion, and hope. We do not see people as problems to be fixed. We see strength, potential, and resilience waiting to be nurtured.

Every life touched by this foundation is a reminder that when given care and opportunity, people can rise and communities can be transformed. This is more than charity. It is a promise born from lived experience: that no one should be forgotten, and that together, we can turn struggle into possibility.

Hope Restored

Since the establishment of our schools, we have been able to support and educate over 50 children who would otherwise have had limited access to learning opportunities.

Each child represents a life touched, a dream revived, and a future reshaped through education and care.

While the number may seem small, the impact is deeply meaningful and every child supported is a step toward a stronger community and a testament to what compassion and commitment can achieve.

This progress encourages us to continue reaching further, believing that even the smallest beginnings can lead to lasting change.
